207-2000 series in new livery

Background and overview
207 series commuter DC electric multiple unit (EMU) trains delivered to replace superannuated 103 series EMU used on JR Takarazuka lines in 2002 have some improvement including technologies introduced to 223-2000 series and are classified into -2000 subseries.
Their formation are 4-car sets consisting of a motored end car, a motored intermediate car, a trailer end car, and a trailer intermediate car, and 3-car sets consisting of a motored end car, a trailer intermediate car and a trailer end car. They are equipped with the prominent anti-fall plates on each end of vehicles except front end of end cars.

Bogies
Motored bogies are WDT62 and trailer bogies are WTR245. Their journal supporting system was changed into coil spring primary suspension with cylindrical laminated rubber to ensure the stability for 207 series light body.

Traction unit and auxiliary equipments
All motored cars are equippeds with a Variable-frequency drive (VFD) traction system, WPC13, featuring Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) controls four asynchronous traction motors, WMT102, with a power output of 200kW on axle basis. Their traction system is integrated with the auxiliary power supply unit. In case of the auxiliary power supply unit failure, one VFD unit for traction motor can switch to supply electricity as the backup auxiliary power supply unit. Class kuha206-2000 vehicles are equipped with a motor driven air rotary compressor, WMH3098-WRC1600 under their floor.

Accommodation
Passenger accommodation is quite similer to 207-1000 series. A minior difference is that class kumoha206-2000 vehciels are equipped with a wheelchair space.
A LED meter panel of the driver's cab was changed into the analog indicators.

Additional delivery
207-2000 seried vehicles built from 2003 introduced UV cut tempered glass.

Modification and refurbishment
Their livery started to be changed into same scheme having dark blue and orange colour carried from 2nd generation commuter train, 321 series, in 2005.
The prominent anti-fall plates on the front ends of class kuha206-2000 vehicles used on 4-car sets and class kumoha207-2000 vehicles used on 3-car sets were also began to be fitted from 2014.

Latest operation status
207-2000 series are now used on JR Takarazuka, Gakken-Toshi, Oosaka-Higashi, and Yamatoji lines' rapid services and JR Kobe, JR Kyoto, JR Takarazuka, JR Tozai and Gakken-Toshi lines' commuter services.
