	JR west built class 923 in 2005, since class 921/922 can't be operated because of the overcrowded train schedule of the Tokaido Shinkansen. Class 923 built by JR West are classified into -3000 sub-class. Although 700 series owned by JR West adopt the different bogies from JR Central, class 923-3000 adopt the same bogies as those of class 923-0. Motored bogies are WDT206 and trailer bogies are WTR8001.
