Background and overview
In 2008, 223-6000 series were created by modifying 223-2000 series sets
with performance restricted to match that of 221 series sets in order to
use some 223-2000 series vehicles as 221 series vehicles. Their maximum
service speed is 120km/h, and their acceleration performance is same as
221 series.
Car body
They are distinguished by an orange stripe on the front gangway doors between
the headlight clusters in order to distinguish different performance from
223-2000 series brothers.
Additional delivery
223-2000 series built for use on Osaka-Higashi line inter-running rapid
services in 2008 were modified with restricted to match that of 221 series
sets after they were allocated at Miyahara depot. Horizontal band of 5
set windows including 2 drop windows having 950mm height are fitted between
the doors such as 5th batch of 223-2000 series. Motored vehicles are equipped
with 2 current pickups for the JR Tohzai line operation.
Latest operation status
225-6000 series are used on the rapid services of the JR Kobe, Kyoto, and Takarazuka Lines. |
