After the pre-production vehicle, EF200-901, underwent extensive testing,
JR Freight received the mass-production type of EF200 from 1992. Visually,
the height of the roof is 200mm lower than that of the EF200-901 by downsizing
the filter condenser in the traction system. The roof is changed into flat
shape.
Brake output was increased from 2280kW to 2730kW. Automatic brake valve was changed from 15 notches to 8 notches, and independent brake valve was from 15 notches to 4 notches for operability improvement. The traction rod of the intermediate truck was fitted horizontally although EF200-901 was diagonally.
EF200 vehicles began to be repainted into the variation of the EF210 from
2004. "INVERTER HI-TECH LOCO" logos were changed into "JRF"
logos.
Although EF200 vehicles were initially allocated at Shin-Tsurumi Depot,
now they are at Suita Depot. |
