Class Kiha110-200 is a single-car diesel multiple unit (DMU) train type
developed by JR East from 1993.
Accommodation consists of fixed transverse seating arranged 2+1 abreast,
with longitudinal bench seats at the ends of the cars. The door step level
is reduced to 970mm to decrease the difference in level between the platform
and the door step of the train. Kiha110-200 features regular sliding doors
in place of plug doors. They are equipped with a toilet.
Lightweight bolster-less bogies, DT58A/TR242, are adopted. Motored bogies,
DT58A, adopt 2-axle drive. The brake system is the electric command brake.
Kiha110-200 is equipped with a prime mover, DMF14HZA, rated at 450PS and
are equipped with multi-plate wet clutch hydraulic transmission gears,
DW14B in order to achieve high service speed and high acceleration performance.
The air conditioner is AU26J-B driven by the traction engine.
Class Kiha110-200 vehicles are now used on the rural services of the Banetsu West, Banestu East, Ishinomaki, Rikuu East, Rikuu West, Kesennuma, Hachikou and Tadami lines. |
