JR Freight gave several improvements to EF210 and classified into -100
sub-class, when JR Freight had a plan to build additional two EF210 locomotives.
Although EF210-0 are equipped with the traction system adopting GTO thyristor,
EF210-100 are equipped with the traction system adopting IGBT. As the result,
EF210-100s realize that one AVAF inverter traction system controls on axle
basis. An air intake located on the body side has become big. "Momo
Taro" logos are moved to the centre of the body. EF210-100 vehicles
built after 2002 are equipped with single arm current collectors, FPS4.
JR Freight started to repaint EF210-100 locomotives in a new livery similar
to that used for EF210-300 locomotives in 2018. |
