In 2012, JR Freight developed the bank engine, EF210-300, in order to displace
superannuated EF67-0 bank engines used on the freight train between Hiroshima
and Saijyo.
They differ from EF210-0 or EF210-100 in having the silicon shock absorbers
for couplers at each end. Because of this difference, the total length
of the body is 400mm longer then EF210-0 or EF210-100.
EF210-300 vehicles are used on the freight train between Hiroshima and
Saijyo as bank engines. |
